Eternity

It's Sunday and time for another Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge! The sisters have some big and wonderful news! We have three people joining us on the Design Team, and I know and treasure each one of them, so I couldn't be more thrilled! Kristine, one of the challenge's creators is returning after a break (WooHoo!!!!)... and MariLynn and Sabrina are also joining us! If you don't know these ladies you will soon love them as much as I do! Their love for the Lord shines in all they do and their artistic talents will inspire you as well! Welcome aboard sisters!!!

Today's hostess is my dear friend, Chris Olsen. She has chosen
Isaiah 40:8 for today's Scripture.

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Her challenge is:
Use a stamped flower image on your creation...
dp, embossing or paper flowers do not count as a stamped flower

Please read Chris' complete devotional thoughts on this great passage on the SSIC Blog!

This verse certainly reminds us that we are like the grass or flowers... we are here but for a short time compared to God, who is Eternal; without beginning and without end. As humans this might sound harsh at first glance, because we tend to think of ourselves as the center of "our" universe, and we tend to make our own plans, often without even giving a thought to what He might want us to do. We live out our lives as if we are in control and the ones who make it all happen. However, as we come to know the Lord God, The everlasting One, we begin to realize just how fleeting our lives really are. None of us knows what tomorrow holds for us... no matter our age or circumstances, we never know when we will breath our last breath. While this thought might in itself not be what we want to hear... the truth is that we can be encouraged by this verse! Those who have placed their complete faith in Christ and Him alone don't need to worry about tomorrow, because they know The One who never changes, Whose Words are true and everlasting, and they can then rest on the promises He has given us, for our future is secure! I am reminded of the old hymn "I Know who holds tomorrow" by Ira Stanphill. The chorus says:

The chorus says:

" Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand."

How about you? Do you know The One who holds the future and are you resting in His peace and security, or do the thoughts of unknown days ahead fill you with fear and anxiety? There is one way to find peace for eternity in the midst of all of life's uncertainty and the chaos of this world we live in, and that is by knowing Christ Jesus, the One whose Word stands forever.

My card is made using this month's new release from Our Daily Bread designs, Tulip Corner and Eternity, along with the custom Label 1 Die Cut made by Spellbinders exclusively for Our Daily Bread designs. I just love this entire release! The tulips speak spring to me, and the frame and custom die are soooo beautiful and fit so many sentiments. This quote is one of the ones in the Eternity set. I used Gina K cs for my base and sentiment panel. The designer paper is K&Co Julianne. I colored the tulips with Copics and sponged Brushed Corduroy around the edges to make everything look a little more aged. The lace is a gift from my DT sister, sweet Sabrina. Thanks sweetie!!!
