Beautiful Day

I really wanted to play in the Challenge this week over on Joan's Gardens. You have to use Just Rite Stamps and the prize is fabulous so a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right? LOL! So anyway, this is what I came up with. I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems. I stamped the Siberian Iris image from Just Rite Beautiful Day with Memento and colored with Copics. I embossed the frame in gold and cut each panel with a Spellbinders Oval (Classic Small and Classic Large). I matted that with a scrap of Paper Co textured antique gold and a Spellbinders Label Four cut from a scrap of Always Artichoke. My base is Bazzill, the green patterned papers are K&Co and the purple is Memory Box Enchanted. For some reason my camera is reading this more blue than it is in person... it's more purple than it looks. I used a little gold braid, an Recollections brad and some spare cut outs of gold from a lattice pendant I had cut earlier and didn't use. I embossed one panel with the CB Textile folder and all layers are sponged with THoltz Angique Linen and Walnut Stain.

I incorporated the colors from Cupcake Inspirations for this card.

I am also entering this in the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Spring - flowers Everywhere!, Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes, Die Cut Dreams (2W) - Spring garden scene, Happily Scrappin purple, House of Gilli - Green, Simon Says Stamp and Show... - some Metal, Aly's Sunday Challenge - Anything goes, Card Cupids - Anything Goes, Gingerloft - Use flowers, Let's Ink It Up - NO DIGI and Embossing, Corrosive Challenges - Lest see some green, Paperplay - Shabby Chic/Vintage, Wild Orchid Crafts - Anything Goes, Catch The Bug - Anything Goes, Papertake Weekly - Show some yelloe (center of Iris), Shelly's Images/TTT Challenge - Lotsa Layers, Fussy and Fancy - Embossing and/or Paper Piecing, Fairy Knoll - Think Spring, Craft Us Crazy - Nature, Tip Top Tuesday - Favorites (embossing, flowers, layering Spellbinders), Bee Crafty- Spring Florals, Pixie Cottage- Spring, Delightful Challenges: welcome Spring, Stampin For The Weekend: Spring Theme, Creations by Gill M Mardi Gras - use Purple, Gold and Green

What a pretty card. reminds me of my mom's home. In the Spring , she always has a pretty garden of iris. My soil is too sandy for those pretty flowers.

The cupcake is decorated so beautifully. Almost wouldn't want to bite into it. But I love cupcakes & especially icing so I would eat it :)

Grace, your card is GORGEOUS! I love the way you've colored the iris. The entire layout is beautiful. I have some similar gold braid in my stash of stuff or other craft projects. Don't know why I never thought of using it on a card. Thanks for the great inspiration.
